Young Ideas for Europe facilitates Europe-wide participation, but there are many other ways to get informed and get involved! There is something for everyone and here are a few links to activities you might find exciting:

  • 350.org's International Day of Climate Action http://www.350.org/people/youth
    What: This October 24, 2009, 350.org is coordinating an International Day of Climate Action with thousands of events at inspiring places around the world -- the Taj Mahal, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and the Great Barrier Reef -- united by a bold call to action: 350. Over 1,000 events are already registered in over 50 countries, with more being planned every day.
    How: Prepare to take part on October 24, 2009 in one of the actions already being planned in your area, or start your own and register the event on their website.

  • CarbonRally http://www.carbonrally.com/
    What: Take challenges, see the impact, and team with others to save energy and reduce global warming.
    How: Sign up and join their online community to partake in challenges and contribute to the already 3.3 million tons of CO2 saved so far.

  • Challenge Europe http://challengeeurope.britishcouncil.org/
    What: The Challenge Europe project is a three year project that aspires to make a definite and lasting impact on the climate change debate, and is ambitious in its aim to accelerate change to a low carbon future.
    How: Become a Climate Champion through their climate change project.

  • European Renewable Energy Council (EREC), Friends of the Earth Europe http://www.energyunion.eu/
    What: Energy Union is a campaign, music tour, party, art and discussion all in one, and it comes together with information, tips & tricks on how to save the planet!
    How: Check the “Action” sect ion for a long list of activities being planned across Europe.

  • Energy Days http://www.sustenergy.org/tpl/page.cfm?pageName=events

  • Green Finger http://www.mygreenfinger.org/
    What: The Green Finger Project is a viral marketing campaign designed to increase awareness about climate change, and make a statement through mass participation.
    How: Take a photograph of yourselves with your index finger painted green and a one-word message on their palm and send it to the project, which will collect and present the photographs to world leaders at the climate negotiations in Copenhagen.

  • Planet Call http://www.planetcall.org/
    What:
    Planet Call aims to collect one million signatures in 100 days. Young people commit themselves to reduce carbon emissions now and encourage all nations to sign an ambitious global climate treaty at the UN Climate Summit (COP-15) in Copenhagen December 2009
    How: Sign the declaration online, make a phone call and spread the news.

  • Road to Copenhagen http://www.road-to-copenhagen.eu/participate.htm
    What: The Road to Copenhagen is a unique initiative which allows you to contribute to the UN negotiating process that we very much hope will result in a new, international climate change agreement for the post-2012 period to be agreed in Copenhagen in 2009.
    How: Through their site, you can participate in forums, through an online Wiki and at conferences.

  • Seal the Deal http://www.sealthedeal2009.org/
    What: The UN-led Seal the Deal Campaign aims to galvanize political will and public support for reaching a comprehensive global climate agreement in Copenhagen in December.
    How: Sign their petition and participate in campaign activities and make your statement on their website.

  • Young European Federalists http://www.jef.eu/
    What: The Young European Federalists is a supranational, political movement active in most European countries.
    How: Become a member! Check out the numerous activities and petitions through which you can make your opinions heard.

  • Young Friends of the Earth Europe http://www.actnow09.eu/ & http://www.foeeurope.org/youngfoee/index.htm
    What: "Act Now! The Young Friends of the Earth Climate project” is for young people from all over Europe who are ready to take climate action, make 2009 the turn-around year of international climate politics and demand justice for the people and the planet from our governments.
    How: Get registered and check out conference applications for activities across Europe.
